Honda Expect “Good Double Digit Growth” in Year to Come

Putting full-stop on the sluggish sales numbers, Honda Cars India expected newer highs in sales number. The company’s foray into diesel engine segment has proved its success and given 83 percent sales growth in previous year selling out 1.3 Lac units.

 
The company remain one of the exception player in declining sales number, it is believed that the launch of diesel Amaze compact sedan put Honda on right track skipping other players behind. Company received another boost with introduction of Honda City Diesel.

But what would be next strategy to maintain these good sales number, Honda is well prepared for time to come with its first MPV Mobilio and premium hatch Jazz. Mobilio will be available in two fuel options that are 1.5 litre I-vtech petrol engine and 1.5-litre iD-tech diesel engine. While Jazz also have offering in both petrol and diesel options. Production of Mobilio is expected from Greater Noida plant.

Mobilio will directly compete with existing MPVs Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova, that sold 4857 units and 3590 units respectively in the April, 2014. Expecting good response from customers for its new launches, company is now planning more production from its Tapukara plant.

Honda’s Tapukara plant currently has combined capacity of 2.4 Lac units per annum, currently working on a single shift. While now company is looking forward to make two shift that will expand the capacity and help company to deliver product as early as possible to its customer.
