Ford among exceptions, sale rise 83% in April

Auto Industry continuing the declining trend registered about 2 % decline led may major domestic players Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra, Japanese player Toyota, US based General Motors. While some player including Honda, Hyundai and Ford India registered positive sales growth.

Among them Form did exceptionally well marking 82.9 percent increase in total sales at 13,297 units in April 2014 compare to 7270 units in the same period previous year.

Company’s domestic sale increased by 66.15 percent to mark 6651 units April, compared to 4003 units in the same period previous year. While export grew by healthily 103 percent growth and sold 6646 units compared to 3,267 units in same period previous year.

Expressing his view on sales number, Mr. Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director Ford India said, Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April,” and “In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energize the Indian automotive sector.”
