The German car makers, Volkswagen is celebrating its five year of completion of their production facility in India at Chakan. It commenced its operation on March 31, 2014. Since its inauguration the facility has rolled out more than 3.5 lakh cars. The plant was built within just 17 months at a record speed across the India.
The plant currently employs 3400 people, the plant also caters to the export need of the company. At the occasion the company has also announced changes in the top management. Mr. Michael Mayer will the new position as VW India director, who is currently holding the position of market planning of VW passenger car.
