The premium car market is growing rapidly, a simple indication of increase in disposable income of rich people. After 27% increase in Mercedes Benz sales in first quarter of this year, Audi also reported a significant increase of 8% in its sales, marking the sales of 10,126 units in 2013-14 compare to 9340 units in the previous year.
The company’s January-March period this year stood at 2740 units as compared to 2616 units in same period of previous year. "The double achievement of selling 10,000 units in a single financial year and calendar year validates the strength and stature that the brand has achieved in India," Audi India Head Joe King said in a statement.
In addition he also said that the "In line with our top-down strategy, we will be launching the next big Audi - Audi A3 Sedan later this year. Globally, the Audi A3 has been a great success and I feel that it is just the right product for the Indian market and will further delight customers across the country," King said.
