Today Indian roads have cheapest AMT from Hyundai Verna, it comes around Rs. 11 Lac. Now Tata Motors have all set to charge market with its two new generation all new cars Zest and Bolt. The bolt will come with diesel engine and AMT gearbox set up, and expected to be cheapest AMT Diesel car.

The car was showcased in 2014 Auto Expo and has been advertised extensively. Though much information is not available so far but it is expected to come with 1.3-litre quadrajet diesel engine which is earlier used in Tata Vista and Manza.

The MagnetiMarelli, Fiat made AMT setup will replace the manual gearbox, with diesel engine having capacity of maximum power of 75 PS. It might be followed by more powerful version of 90 PS of maximum power.

Unlike CVTs or dual-clutch automatic gearbox, in the case of AMTs, a conventional manual gearbox hooked up to a set of electronic actuators is used. These actuators are further controlled by hydraulic electro-valves. In addition, the technology is said to be capable of offering fuel efficiency gains.
