News of Hyundai unveils two sedans in South Korea

South Korean Car maker, Hyundai has unveiled two sedan at the 2014 Busan International Motor Show. The launches include facelifted version of Grandeur Luxury sedan and the exterior of all new flagship sedan ‘AG’.

The new Grandeur sedan is now comes with upgraded powertrain and some cosmetic changes. It is 10 mm longer than its predecessor, has new front, and rear bumper, a new more attractive grille and LED fog lamps.

Interior includes new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) control and all new eight-inch navigation screen.

Mechanical changes include, it will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel option. A 2.2-litre R oil-burner produces 20 PS of power and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The new Grandeur gets front wheel drive system and variable geo-metry turbocharge.

The car has also care car about safety, considering features like Blind Spot Detection, Front Collision Warning System, Lane Departure Warning System and advanced smart parking assist system.

While the company has just raveled exterior of all new AG. From the design point of view the car follows Fluid concept, it enjoys pretty long size, large fog lamps with LED day time running lights and super hexagonal shaped chrome grille. Tata Bolt AMT to be India’s Cheapest Diesel Automatic

Today Indian roads have cheapest AMT from Hyundai Verna, it comes around Rs. 11 Lac. Now Tata Motors have all set to charge market with its two new generation all new cars Zest and Bolt. The bolt will come with diesel engine and AMT gearbox set up, and expected to be cheapest AMT Diesel car.

 

The car was showcased in 2014 Auto Expo and has been advertised extensively. Though much information is not available so far but it is expected to come with 1.3-litre quadrajet diesel engine which is earlier used in Tata Vista and Manza.

The MagnetiMarelli, Fiat made AMT setup will replace the manual gearbox, with diesel engine having capacity of maximum power of 75 PS. It might be followed by more powerful version of 90 PS of maximum power.

Unlike CVTs or dual-clutch automatic gearbox, in the case of AMTs, a conventional manual gearbox hooked up to a set of electronic actuators is used. These actuators are further controlled by hydraulic electro-valves. In addition, the technology is said to be capable of offering fuel efficiency gains.

General Motor Launches Spark Limited Edition

General Motors India, yesterday launched limited edition Spark, which is entry level car from the company. The company under is brand name Chevrolet Spark has done well in the Indian market, but failed to compete with Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki.

The company yesterday launched limited edition Spark to attract low to medium budget customer pricing it at Rs. 3.99 Lac, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new edition will have new features such as outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals etc, it will be priced between 3.44 to 3.99 lac Ex-showroom, Delhi.

The car mechanical features include 1-litre petrol engine. The company is targeting first time buyer with the launch of this car. “With the launch of another limited edition model with more features, GM India has sought to exceed the expectations of its customers.” GM India President said.

The company is offering a standard company warranty of three years or 100000 km on the limited edition car. It also provide standard three year 24/7 free roadside assistance program.

Nissan considering Navara based SUV for India

The Nissan India, is planning to launch a new Navara SUV, with huge expectation from the Indian market. The company released a new video online that gives a glimpse of Navara which is expected to be unveiled soon.

Now, the car maker could be considering India too while introducing a new Nissan Navara platform. It is the seven-seater car that will be directly competing with existing cars such as Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavor.

Talking about its all new SUV, Andy Palmer, Chief Planning Officer, Nissan Global said that he wouldn’t rule out an SUV based on the new Nissan Navara. He added that an SUV model and a pick-up vehicle have common traits like having good durability, reliability and quality.

Even newly appointed Chairman of Nissan (India, Middle East, Africa), Takashi Hata said that “He believes SUVs can help the company make a mark in India. Especially since Nissan is one the most successful SUV maker the world over.”

Currently, Nissan India’s current SUV portfolio consist of only one car Nissan Terrano, earlier X-trail was there to accompanying Terrano, but it discontinued this year, now new generation X-trail can be launched soon.

Nissan could bring a full size seven seater sedan SUV to share rapidly growing SUV segment of Indian market, but let us see the new offering will be SUV Nissan Navara based or something else.

Maruti Suzuki Delegation meets Gujarat CM over its New Plant Technical Problems

On Wednesday, Gujarat Government advised Maruti Suzuki India to get clarification about the legal and technical glitches that may arise in two company model proposed by the Suzuki. The Suzuki is looking forward to have its own wholly owned subsidiary for the new production plant, which will sell produced cars to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.

The company will make Rs. 4000 crore investment towards the facility, and this meeting was intended to get clarification about possible legal issues in future. Mr. Bhargava, Chairman, MSIL, said that “We briefed the state about the two-company model and assured that our investment plans for the state remain intact.”

In June, 2012 the company signed a state support agreement with Gujarat Government for purchase of land and setting up a plant. In January, 2014 MSIL board approved a plan in which the proposed plant will be built by new subsidiary of Suzuki Motor, Suzuki Motor Gujarat ltd.

The concern between government and company arise about VAT refunds in the two-company model relating to production and sales of produced units. As per the original plan, MSIL was both producer and seller. However, Mr. Bhargava said that, “The state has assured us that it is committed to the project.”
