BMW i3 Electronaut edition emerge

BMW has revealed details about the BMW i3 model that will be made available only to ActiveE owners. Dubbed the Eectronaut edition, this special BMW i3 model will also get different badging, along with a blue license plate frame. The BMW i3 Electronaut edition will also get DC Fast Charging system.

While changes to the interior are limited, tweeks include heated front seats, special floor mats and embroidered “board bag”. This model will also get a DC Fast charging system.

Owners will also get exclusive access to the BMW iSmart Charging application for Apple and Android users. While there isn’t much known about the usability of the app yet, it is rumoured that the application will help owners reduce their energy costs by calculating the daily cost-optimized charging periods for the i3.

Another perks for Electronaut buyers will be that the additional equipment that reportedly costs $1,750, will be made free for the owners of this special edition BMW i3.

Mercedes ML 63 AMG Coming in May

The ML63 AMG is the potent, sport-focused model of Mercedes-Benz M-Class mid-size luxury SUV range. Though the wisdom of a high-performance variant of a big, heavy and aerodynamically challenged SUV is debatable, customer demand is strong, and Mercedes has responded with the most powerful ML63 AMG to-date.

Mercedes-Benz is definitely serious about strengthening the presence of its performance arm, AMG, in India. After the launch of the GL 63 AMG SUV recently, the carmaker is now slated to launch the ML 63 AMG here. The event will be held at the AMG Performance Centre in Delhi, the first-ever such facility here, and will mark the facility's launch as well.

Eberhard Kern, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India will be present on the occasion.

The Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG is powered by a 517.8bhp, 5.5-litre V8 motor mated to a AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The SUV has an electronically limited top speed of 250kph which can be set at 280kph with the optional AMG Driver's Package.

New Year starts with Negative Note

Toyota Kirlosker Motor sales declined 20% in April 14

Toyota Kirlosker is among the player continued to decline even the first month of new fiscal. The company registered 20.35 percent drop in the sales selling 8328 units in April this year compare to 10,456 units in the same period previous fiscal year.

Its domestic market sales remain 7562 units in last down by almost 16.04 percent compared to the sales of 9007 units in same period previous fiscal year and it exported 766 units of Etios model.

Mr. N Raja, Senior VP Sales and Marketing while commenting on sales performance said that “We resumed normal production on April 22 and were carrying out limited operations until then,” and “We thank our customers for their support and understanding during this difficult time. It is our endeavor to make the deliveries of vehicles on a timely basis.”

Ford among exceptions, sale rise 83% in April

Expressing his view on sales number, Mr. Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director Ford India said, Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April,” and “In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energize the Indian automotive sector.”
